11. Subimal Chakraborti

Few things impact Islanders more than their commutes. We had high hopes for Chakraborti last year, and he did deliver, on one level, by directing improvements on more than 225 miles of LI roadways. But Chakraborti has got some explaining to do about the LIE-HOV construction snafu, not to mention that he is in a position to advocate truly important changes—like more LIRR and bus service—that could take pressure off the roads and make all of our commutes slightly less nightmarish.
