13. N.Y. State Sen. Dean Skelos

Rockville Centre’s favorite son continues to prove why he is so popular in his hometown, constantly getting results for his constituents. It seems as if Skelos has no worries when election time rolls around. But with the Nassau County Republican Party dying on the vine, one could hope that Skelos would step up and help usher in a new era within the party. With the power struggle in Albany about to kick up a notch during the 2006 gubernatorial race, Skelos could be well-positioned to take the next step to Power Town.
