The superintendent of the Rockville Centre school district, Johnson is the only Long Islander serving on Governor Pataki’s Education Reform Commission, charged with reworking the state’s school financing in the wake of the Campaign for Fiscal Equity’s lawsuit. In addition to being respected as an educator, Johnson is praised by LI education leaders for his understand- ing of statistical info and knowledge of education financing.
