After George Pataki’s State of the State speech, the affable Bobby drives up to the gate of the governor’s mansion and says, “Tell the governor Bobby Kumar is here.” A suspicious guard makes a quick call, and within minutes Bobby is being high-fived by George in his living room. And this was after similar greetings from Hevesi, Gaffney, MTA Chief Peter Kalikow and…well, you get the picture. For Bobby, it’s all about the power of friendship.
