39. Sal Ferro

Over the years we’ve ignored Sal Ferro’s requests to minimize his philanthropic activities. We’re not supposed to talk about how easy it is to pull his heartstrings or how many people have come to rely on his generosity of spirit. We’ve decided to finally honor his request and only talk about his business, Alure Home Improvements. We won’t mention how he still stays in touch with several of the families Alure Home Improvements helped during the days of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. We certainly won’t talk about his involvement in The Townwide Fund of Huntington, Fight for Charity, Clark Gillies Foundation, or the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN). And you can bet we’re not even touching the cult-like atmosphere of his company, where employees are considered family members and often volunteer their time and expertise in support of Alure’s many charitable initiatives. Instead, we’re simply going to leave you with this: According to Remodeling Magazine, Alure Home Improvements is the second-largest full-service home remodeling company in the United States.
