34. Dr. Calvin Butts III

Perhaps best known for leading one of the oldest Baptist churches in the nation, Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church, he also runs one of the most diverse colleges on LI, and slowly but surely he is returning SUNY/COW to its former glory. Butts’ accumulated power has been largely unseen until recently, when the pastor announced that former President Bill Clinton would speak at Old Westbury’s annual April fundraiser…for free. Clinton usually earns six figures per appearance.
