As president of 1 in 9, Barish has been a vigorous and successful advocate for increased funding and interest in breast and other cancers. She established the LI Breast Cancer Study and a grant at the CSH Labs to study the genetics of cancer. She was also active in creation of the state pesticide registry law. LOVE HER for focusing on what might be LI’s greatest health concern. HATE those darn pink bows.
