The Morrelly Homeland Security Center, stationed inside a Bethpage industrial park once dominated by Northrop-Grumman facilities, is aiming for a return to the heyday of LI’s defense manufacturing industry. Aside from being a headquarters for emergency management coordinators when disaster strikes, the center is also an incubator for emerging technologies designed to help fight the War on Terror. The center is run by the nonprofit Applied Science Foundation for Homeland Security, which is a member of the Long Island Forum for Technology family of companies. In charge of LIFT, the foundation and the center is local manufacturing guru and all-around genius, Frank Otto.
