46. Christine Healy
2007 Power List
An inspiration to her students and the community, Healy was named the 2005 Long Island Teacher of the Year by the New York State Education Department. Since then, the Bethpage High School math teacher penned “Mathematics: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow,” highlighting changes in the secondary mathematics curriculum and the New York State Mathematics
Regents exams. And if reworking the entire state math testing process wasn’t enough, Healy has taken part in LiftOff—Exploring the Unknown! A Texas Space Grant Consortium, two years in a row.
