It was bold for Morgo to quit the helm of his housing nonprofit last year and move into a government post, which is why we listed him among last year’s “people to watch.” He’s proven, at least on a small scale, that affordable development can be done. And he kept his independence while working for the county. He has a long way to go to build even a fraction of the new housing that’s needed, but his exten- sive experience in the field can only be an asset.
