The nonprofit Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington is really a family affair, with Vic Skolnick, Charlotte Sky and their son Dylan running the show. And it’s one impressive collaboration indeed. The CAC is arguably the premier independent movie house in the country. A haven for cinema buffs, CAC introduces new and important movies and brilliantly conceived lectures by world-renowned actors and directors. Wielding more power in the world of film—even the mainstream movie industry—than one would imagine, the Skolnick-Sky triad has graced the Power List for years, but just to kick things up a bit, we decided it was time for a bit of changing of the guard. As cinephile Dylan imparts more and more of his colossal wealth of knowledge, and even more so, enormous passion for the genre, let’s pay him back for his immeasurable cultural contribution to LI. Mom and Dad, as powerful as you are, enjoy the spotlight on your brilliant film-geek of a kid.
