Anthony Scotto and Victor Scotto
2018 Power List
President and Vice President, Scotto Brothers Enterprises
As the leading duo behind the sprawling Scotto Brothers high-end restaurant, catering, and hotel group, Victor and Anthony Scotto personify the American Dream. After immigrating from Italy to America in 1961, they started out working at their uncle’s Italian restaurant, Romano’s, in Brooklyn. They both worked second jobs while going to night school to learn English, with the ultimate goal of opening their own restaurant. The success of their first, Scotto’s Restaurant & Pizzeria, in Port Washington, quickly spawned four more pizzerias and three steakhouses. The growing family portfolio then expanded to include the Chateau Briand—then a small catering facility, which they transformed into one of the region’s leading venues. Later, Westbury Manor, Fox Hollow and the Watermill catering facilities were acquired. Rounding out the family’s legacy in the hospitality industry, they ventured into the hotel sector, building The Inn at Fox Hollow in 2002. A second hotel, the Hampton Inn, was built in Princeton, N.J. Most recently, Anthony opened One North, in Jericho, a chic new restaurant billed as having Mediterranean soul, and Victor has recently taken over operation of Seventh Street Cafe, his much-loved Italian trattoria in Garden City. Anthony also owns Blackstone Steakhouse, Rare650 Steakhouse, and Insignia Steakhouse, while Victor owns restaurants in Las Vegas, at the Venetian and Planet Hollywood hotels. Victor and Anthony can look back with much pride and satisfaction over the past 50 years, in which, from the most humble of beginnings, they rose to the very pinnacle of their field, revolutionizing the catering industry and creating an empire.
