Sal Ferro
Hall of Fame
Ferro has a tremendous wingspan. His lifelong dedication to the craft of home remodeling has paid off with the creation of the largest home remodeling company on Long Island, Alure Home Improvements. But it is his larger-than-life dedication to the Long Island community that has firmly established his place on the Power List Hall of Fame. Like many large companies, Alure Home Improvements supports numerous local charities but few match the fervor and commitment exhibited by the staff of Alure under the guidance of their CEO, Sal Ferro. It’s fitting that Ferro’s induction occurs on the heels of Alure’s participation in ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition for the eighth time. Only this time, when ABC’s executives asked Ferro and his team to once again help a family in need, Ferro insisted the family be from Long Island. His insistence resulted in one of the most heartwarming broadcasts to date as the world watched Ferro and company construct a home for Grace and John Lutz, a loving couple who have shared their home with 18 adopted children in all, including seven with Down Syndrome. In everything he does, Ferro puts Long Islanders, his employees and those in need first. It is the core mission of Alure Home Improvements and likely the key to Sal Ferro’s success.
