Terri Alessi-Miceli
2018 Power List
President & CEO, HIA-LI
Generating more than $870 million annually in annual income and property taxes. Having more jobs of any industrial park east of the Mississippi. Responsible for one in 20 jobs on Long Island. These are just some of the indicators that reveal just how much the Hauppauge Industrial Park is a powerhouse of an economic engine. And the woman making sure that this finely tuned machine continues to run at top speed is Terri Alessi-Miceli, President and CEO of the Hauppauge Industrial Association, known as HIA-Long Island for short. She’s been busy solidifying strategic partnerships with the Regional Plan Association and Suffolk County Industrial Development Association to ensure the region’s rainmakers are committed to ushering in a coming era of growth and investment. From pushing for a greater sense of community in the HIP to devising a plan to increase sewage capacity to shift the park into high gear, this former Managing Director of Dale Carnegie Training is working overtime to bring one of the region’s most significant business hubs to the next level. That, combined with her philanthropic efforts that have won her humanitarian awards, she’s not all about board meetings and conference calls. Alessi-Miceli is an industrial association president with a heart of gold.
