Hall of Fame
President & CEO, United Way of Long Island
Theresa Regnante understands the plight of Long Island’s most vulnerable population, and uses her remarkable abilities to raise vast amounts of funding to offer relief to those who need it most. Under her leadership, United Way of Long Island has not only become a well-funded machine, it has transformed the way community problem-solving has traditionally been handled. The result is that United Way of Long Island has raised more than $15 million in government, corporate, and private foundation grants while entering into 125 partnerships with financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, the faith-based community, corporations, unions and other stakeholders, in an effort to coordinate more effective public initiatives covering a wide range of vital issues. Her goal is to ensure that every Long Island child has a quality education, every family has a stable income, and every individual has access to healthcare. In 2016, Regnante was honored for her contribution to the people of Long Island by L.I. Against Domestic Violence with an award recognizing her outstanding support, presented with the David S. Taub Award by the Safe Center L.I., earned the Grand Winner U.S. DOE National Housing Innovation Award, and was honored with a Brava Award from SmartCEOs as a top female business leader on Long Island. Regnante’s relentless pursuit of support for those in need is an inspiration to us all. And for her tireless efforts that have earned her a place on this list five times, we welcome her into the Power List Hall of Fame.
